The Lions Family Get Together..

The Lions Family Get together ,Lions district 306 C 1, first ever to be organized by the Leos of the District, was held on 18 th September at Tamil Union Grounds whole day. Chief Guest for the opening ceremony was Hon.Min Patali Champika All distinguish dignitaries of the Lions district were present for the opening of the event. Organizing committee was chaired by the District chairman for Leos, Lion Tuan Roshan Latiff where Leo District President, Leo Dhanushka Ramanayaka and his Leos took their pride in organizing the mega event. Leo participation n the event was remarkable where the outstation Leos from Leo clubs of Trincomalee and Avissawella were also present with great enthusiasm.
The event was praised by many, Including the District Governor Lion Wijitha Manamperi where it was well suited under his theme, Change to be innovative. 

Each and every one took home a beautiful memory and loads of smiles were shared on the day and it was a great experience for Leos !!

Leo Club of Colombo Wekanda Celebrates Decade of Excellence !!!

Leo Club of Colombo Wekanda celebrated her 1oth charter anniversary with 11^th installation on 10^th October 2011 at Lions Activity Center, Col 7 on 10^th September 2011.

Chief Guest,  1^st Vice Governor. Advisor to the Leo district- Lion B.Janaranjan MJF JP and hid Lion lady Umashankari, Guest of Honor, 2^nd Vice Governor, Advisor to the Leo district Lion Chamindu Abeywickrama MJF JP, Special Guest District President, multiple district Vice president Leo Dhanushka Ramanayaka, Multiple District president Leo Thiruppan Sivapathisundaram , District Chairman for leos, Lion Tuan Roshan Latiff and Vice district president leo Shamindra Livera graced the occation with their honorable presence.

 And past presidents, past members and friends of Leo club of Colombo Wekanda joined with the celebration of the decade of excellence.

Within a period of ten years of service this Club has reached the highest rank which a  Leo club can ever reach and won the award for the “Best Leo Club in the World” at the academy awards ceremony in Boston USA. And not concluding the success with that,  Leo Club of Colombo Wekanda has also brought pride to Sri Lanka by presenting three “Leos of the world” , Leo Tuan Roshan Latiff, Leo Janaka Peiris and Leo Madhawa Wicramasinghe where she proudly standing as the best among others.

Leo Club of Colombo Wekanda is not only proud because her world awards, but also she has been honored by the Leo District 306 C1 by selecting five District Presidents from the club including the current district President of Leo District 306 C1, Leo Dhanushka Ramanayaka and Past District presidents Leo Supun Nigamuni, Leo Madawa Wickramasinghe, Leo Janaka Peries and Leo/Lion Tuan Latiff.

Not only that, but club also has the pride of having produced one multiple district president and eagerly expects second in the next Leoistic year and she has no intention to stop been producing energetic leaders, but expect more to come with years to come.

The spirit of Wekandians never dies but their energetic blood, togetherness brings out the best within them to reach the excellence, it’s all about Wekanda family and their bond; if not decade of excellence would be only a dream.

Back to Basics "Orientation for Diyawanna-Set of Leos"

Orientation Program for Set of Leos from 3 Leo clubs of Leo district 306 C1,  Diyawannawa, Diyawannawa Golden, Diyawannaoya Golden Achievers has been condusted on 11th Sunday At Lions Activity center, col 7.

District President leo Dhanushka Ramanayaka, District Chairman for Leos Lion Tuan Roshan latiff and Activity Director- Constitution and by laws, Leo Supun Perera shared their knowledge and experiences with participating Leos and prospects.

Thanks goes to the President and members of Leo club of Diyawannawa Golden  for organizing this event and the other two presidents for sending their members to make this event a Success.

It is yet another step of Leo district 306 C1 to learn Basics to reach Beyond...

District President's Sudden visit to Trinco

District president has paid to sudden visit to Trincomalee off his worked schedule to meet leos and has received surprised reception which is graced by1st vice Deshabandu Lion B. Janaranjan MJF JP.


In his own quote " Had to visit Trincomalee on Work purpose and on my way I just rang my Leos and I was surprised for the reception I received and more over I was honored as the 1st Vice District Governor was there too. We had a fruitful meeting & shared plans for this Leoistic Year. Thank you Leos of Trincomalee.

7th Annual Distract Installation Ceremony

7th Annual Distract Installation Ceremony of Leo District 306 C1 for the leoistic year 2011/2012 held successfully with no doubt on 28^th August at the Lighthouse, Lukshman Kadiragamar Institute (LKIIRSS), Col 7.

 Chief Guest- District Governor Lion Wijitha Manamperi JP, Guest of Honor – 1^st Vice Governor – Lion B.Janaranjan MJF JP and special guests 2nd Vice Governor Lion Chamindu Abewickrama MJF JP and CEO/MD Achievers Lanka Business School- Mr.Fariz Ismail,  graced the occasion with their presence and shared their valuable thoughts with the audience gathered.

District President Leo Dhanushka Ramanayake along with his team, district council for the leoistic year 2011/2012, taken up their vows to serve in their roles and responsibilities undertaken.

District president’s theme for the year 2011/2012, “Basics and beyond” introduced along with the 4 point program and district president’s logo was unveiled where DP’s logo pins were awarded to the recognized dignitaries.

Along with the Installation another milestone for the Leo District 306 C1 was touched upon as by signing MOUs for the sponsorships raised worth more than 2.5 million in aid of community based voluntary services.

District 306 C1, proud to be a mother of mighty Leo clubs, with “World’s Best Leo Club”, Leo club of Colombo Wekanda  and sons who brought  “Leo of the Year” titles several times to her,  awaiting the next proud moments to embrace with.
