Leo Club of Colombo Wekanda celebrated her 1oth charter anniversary with 11th installation on 10th October 2011 at Lions Activity Center, Col 7 on 10th September 2011.
Chief Guest, 1st Vice Governor. Advisor to the Leo district- Lion B.Janaranjan MJF JP and hid Lion lady Umashankari, Guest of Honor, 2nd Vice Governor, Advisor to the Leo district Lion Chamindu Abeywickrama MJF JP, Special Guest District President, multiple district Vice president Leo Dhanushka Ramanayaka, Multiple District president Leo Thiruppan Sivapathisundaram , District Chairman for leos, Lion Tuan Roshan Latiff and Vice district president leo Shamindra Livera graced the occation with their honorable presence.
And past presidents, past members and friends of Leo club of Colombo Wekanda joined with the celebration of the decade of excellence.
Within a period of ten years of service this Club has reached the highest rank which a Leo club can ever reach and won the award for the “Best Leo Club in the World” at the academy awards ceremony in Boston USA. And not concluding the success with that, Leo Club of Colombo Wekanda has also brought pride to Sri Lanka by presenting three “Leos of the world” , Leo Tuan Roshan Latiff, Leo Janaka Peiris and Leo Madhawa Wicramasinghe where she proudly standing as the best among others.
Leo Club of Colombo Wekanda is not only proud because her world awards, but also she has been honored by the Leo District 306 C1 by selecting five District Presidents from the club including the current district President of Leo District 306 C1, Leo Dhanushka Ramanayaka and Past District presidents Leo Supun Nigamuni, Leo Madawa Wickramasinghe, Leo Janaka Peries and Leo/Lion Tuan Latiff.
Not only that, but club also has the pride of having produced one multiple district president and eagerly expects second in the next Leoistic year and she has no intention to stop been producing energetic leaders, but expect more to come with years to come.
The spirit of Wekandians never dies but their energetic blood, togetherness brings out the best within them to reach the excellence, it’s all about Wekanda family and their bond; if not decade of excellence would be only a dream.
